New Changes to USA(J)MO Qualification Cutoffs
Students who achieve high scores in the AMC 12 and AIME will be invited to the USAMO, while those with high scores in the AMC 10 and AIME will be invited to the USAJMO.
The qualification scoring formula for the USA(J)MO has changed from: AMC Score + AIME Score × 10 to AMC Score + AIME Score × 20.
- USAMO Standard Score = AMC 12 Score + 20 × AIME Score.
- USAJMO Standard Score = AMC 10 Score + 20 × AIME Score.
Example: If a student scores 110 on the AMC 12 and 12 on the AIME, their USAMO qualification score would be: 110 + (12 × 20) = 350.
Note: Students with Chinese citizenship can only compete up to the AIME level and are not eligible for the USA(J)MO. Only U.S. citizens or students currently studying in the U.S. or Canada are eligible to participate in the USA(J)MO. However, reaching the USA(J)MO cutoff line remains a powerful testament to a student's academic strength.
Based on recent cutoff trends, to qualify for the USAMO or USAJMO, students generally need to score at least 110 or even 120+ on the AMC 10/12, and correctly solve at least 11 problems on the AIME to have a strong chance.

Registration Process
After qualifying via the AMC 10/12, candidates will receive an official email or SMS notification. Students must log in to the official registration portal (AMC China or ASDAN) to confirm their participation.
Competition Format
Format: Individual competition, 15 questions. All answers are integers between 0 and 999.
Duration: 180 minutes.
Scoring: Total of 15 points. 1 point for each correct answer. 0 points for blank or incorrect answers.

The exam covers four main areas: Algebra, Geometry, Combinatorics & Probability, and Number Theory.
